BT wins Best Corporate Responsibility Category in Best Business Awards
Lumina would like to congratulate our client BT on winning a Best Business Award in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility category.
The Best Business Awards are one of the UK’s highest profile awards, rewarding large international PLCs, public sector organisations and dynamic and innovative SMEs that are truly excellent at what they do.
Commenting on the BT Community Connections award scheme, Andrew Areoff, Chairman of the Judges, said: "This scheme has made a real difference to many of the nine million people who do not use the internet. BT discovered that many non-users, often from socially disadvantaged groups, would like to get online but don't know how. Through the scheme, BT awards a charity or community group with free broadband access for a year, enabling them to provide support to those who want to get online and make a real difference to their lives. Through the 7,000 awards made, millions have learnt how to use the internet to source cheaper goods, find a job, get information and stay in touch with friends."
